Antoine Griezmann

Antoine Griezmann (French pronunciation: ​[ɑ̃twan ɡʁjɛzman]; born 21 March 1991) is a French professional footballer who plays for Spanish club Atlético Madrid mainly as a forward.

He began his career at Real Sociedad, where he spent five seasons before transferring to Atlético Madrid for €30 million, and has scored over 80 La Liga goals in his career.

Griezmann has been a French youth international, having represented his country at under-19, under-20 and under-21 level. In 2010, he was part of the team that won the 2010 UEFA European Under-19 Football Championship on home soil. He made his debut for the senior national team in 2014 and played at that year's World Cup.

Club career

Early years

Griezmann was born in the commune of Mâcon in the département of Saône-et-Loire. His ancestry is Alsatian, hence his Germanic surname. He began his career playing for hometown club UF Mâcon. While there, he embarked on several trials with professional clubs in order to earn a spot in one of their youth academies, but was rejected because clubs questioned his size and lightweight frame.

FC Bayern was founded in 1900 by eleven football players led by Franz John. The club had its period of greatest success in the middle of the 1970s when, under the captaincy of Franz Beckenbauer, it won the European Cup three times in a row (1974–76). Overall, Bayern has reached ten European Cup/UEFA Champions League finals, most recently winning their fifth title in 2013 as part of a continental treble. Bayern has also won one UEFA Cup, one European Cup Winners' Cup, one UEFA Super Cup, one FIFA Club World Cup and two Intercontinental Cups, making it one of the most successful European clubs internationally. Since the formation of the Bundesliga, Bayern has been the dominant club in German football with 25 titles and has won 7 of the last 11 titles. They have traditional local rivalries with TSV 1860 München and 1. FC Nürnberg, as well as with Borussia Dortmund since the mid 1990s.

FC Bayern Munich (women)

FC Bayern Munich is a German football club, which had major success in the 1970s, but faded in the 1990s after relegation from the Bundesliga in 1992. The club achieved promotion to the Bundesliga in 2000 and had mid-table results since. In 2009 Bayern were runners-up in the Bundesliga, trailing champion Turbine Potsdam by a single goal. In the 2011–12 season on 12 May 2012, FC Bayern Munich dethroned the German Cup title holders 1. FFC Frankfurt with a 2–0 in the 2011–12 final in Cologne and celebrated the biggest success of the club's history since winning the championship in 1976. In 2015 they won the Bundesliga for the first time, without any defeat.

FC Bayern Munich Basketball is a professional basketball club, part of the FC Bayern Munich sports club based in Munich, Germany. The club play their national domestic league games in the BBL league and internationally in the Euroleague.

History

Bayern Munich has a long basketball tradition. Besides its most successful years in the 1950s and 1960s (German Championships in 1954, 1955, and German Cup in 1968), the club enjoyed remarkable popularity in 1956, when it even drew 40,000 fans to an open-air test game against Lancia Bozen, once a top basketball club from Italy. Later, in 1966, the club was a founding member of the German League.

In the following years, the club slowly, but surely, faded into obscurity, and in 1974, was even relegated to the German 2nd Division. For a long time after that, the club never completely recovered, and only had a few successful years (Bayern moved up to the German First Division in 1987, and stayed there until 1989).

In 2008, the declared goal of the team was to return to the club’s former glory, and return to the top German League, which it eventually did. In the near future, the club seeks to become a major force in European basketball, so that Bayern Munich will not only be well known for its football (soccer) operations, but also for its basketball operations as well. In the 2012–13 season the club reached the semi-finals of the Basketball Bundesliga, where it lost 3–2 against the reigning champions Brose Baskets.
